Crafts and USPS

School has been taking away of lot of my crafting time, however, I did manage to finish this lovely pincushion. It is for sell in my Etsy shop for $10. I love flowers, especially cherry blossoms, so I really liked the way this turned out. I am also working (slowly but surely) on a panda bear sundae cross stitch. Sounds odd I know, but I think it is going to be so cute. I hope to be done with it this weekend. That is the plan anyways!

In other news, I officially hate the United States Postal Service. They have managed to lose not 1 but 4 packages I sent out! I sold some textbooks on Ebay and they lost all FOUR of them. When I called to see what I could do, they were basically like "Oops, Oh well." Apparently they all wound up in a mail recovery center and I have to write them a letter describing each of the lost items so they can send them back to me. I honestly don't think I will ever see those items again. Meanwhile, all the recipients are emailing me demanding their money back. So not only am I out the items that were lost, I am out the fees eBay charged me, plus I have to refund their money back. Grr! I will never use them again. This has been the biggest hassle I have ever had to deal with. FedEx from now on!

Sweat Baby Sweat

Unfortunately, now that school has started back, my time for crafting must slow down. However, it will not completely stop all together! Luckily, I will still have time for craft night with my girls.

Now for typical girl talk. Like most women, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but better yet, get more toned. I'd like to have those nice toned arms and just be able to feel completely secure when I'm at the beach. I am going to Miami beach at the end of March, so therefore I am starting my "extreme" workout plan. I only want to lose about 7 more pounds, but I am really aiming on just toning up. I bought the Slim in 6 program a while back and me and my friend Lonnie have been pretty consistent with staying on track. We usually do it about 2-3 times a week. We started with the "Ramp it Up!" video, which is about 47 minutes long. Let me start by first saying, this is definitely the best program I have ever done that actually does follow through with fast results. I would recommend the Slim in 6 to any woman that wants to lose weight and get firm. It combines cardio, weight lifting and abs all in one video. I lost about 8 pounds and gained some muscle. We currently do the "Burn it Up!" video and it is definitely tough but totally worth it. That video is an hour long! We've been slacking a bit because of the holidays. It was hard to find time between family time and traveling, but now that the holidays are over, I plan on getting back on track. Workout plan starts tomorrow! yay!

Last night I celebrated my 25th birthday, since it falls on a Monday this year and Mondays are usually so hectic for me. My best friends Bliss & Lonnie made me the BEST cupcakes ever. Aren't they absolutely adorable?!?! And they were tasty too! Bliss loves to make cupcakes and she always makes the most delicious ones. She also likes to craft. You can check out her blog here and see other cupcakes she has made, as well as projects she has completed. She enjoys cross stitching and embroidering and I think she such an awesome job! I truly have the greatest friends ever. :)

Get Felt Up

I finshed my strawberry pincushion. I think it turned out well, although it could have been better. I'm now currently working on a ice cream cone pincushion & a lemon pincushion. I figure everyone is probably tired of those traditional tomato pincushions that are in every craft store across America. I make the pincushions out of felt, which I really enjoy working with. The only problem is that we only have one craft store around here so I am stuck to a limited amount of colors. It's hard to find felt with a huge variety of colors online without costing a fortune. So if anyone has any suggestions of where I can get some gorgeous colors for a good price, let me know!

I hate infomercials.

I finished quite a few projects I was working on this weekend. I'm glad because I think some of them turned out really nice. Here are two pieces I finished over the weekend. I am really proud of how they both turned out. The Link piece is the first cross stitch I have ever done. They were very time consuming but very much worth it. These items are available for sale in my Etsy shop. I am really big into video games, so I really enjoyed doing the Zelda/Link piece. For those who have played the game should be able to tell the object above the hearts is the fairy that is in the game. I tried to show this to my mom and she wasn't able to tell what it was. Of course, she has never played the game, so I am hoping it is easy for others to make out what it is.

So I guess I should have started a blog a long time ago, but honestly, I'm just now getting around to putting it together. Surprisingly enough, the picture on my blog is not me. That is my fantastic puppy Kaiser. He is my world. Anyways, I wanted to share one of the Christmas gifts I made for my nephew, Cohen. My brother is a huge Alabama fan, so I made my nephew this Alabama shirt. Don't mind the messy floor in the background.

I was very proud of this piece. I think it turned out good. I'm currently working on some pincushions to list up on Etsy. Look for listings soon! You can visit my Etsy shop here. I don't have many things listed yet, but I update frequently so keep checking back!
