The Pampered Chef and Baby Birds

I just started selling with The Pampered Chef, so I have been busy trying to get some cooking shows booked and learning everything I can about it. I am going to school for a degree with a double major in Marketing and Human Resource Management with a minor in Business Administration. A lot of jobs that require this type of degree want you to have some experience in Sales, so I figured selling with the Pampered Chef would be some really great experience. I just had a cooking show on Saturday with my best friends, Lonnie and Bliss. I had a really good time and hope everyone did too. You know, I honestly could not ask for better friends. They are always so supportive of me in whatever I do. Bliss has been telling people that I am doing it and trying to get some shows booked for me. She is so awesome. And Lonnie allowed me to do the cooking show at her house. They are both so fantastic. :)

In other news, there are birds living in my attic and they are driving me completely insane. They have a dance party with all their little bird friends everyday at 3am, so it's totally awesome for me when I am trying to sleep. I swear it sounds like someone is banging on my ceiling. Man, I totally love it so much. I am scared to go up there and "shoo" them out because I can hear that there are baby birds in there as well, and if you have ever dealt with baby birds, momma birds do not like it when you get anywhere near their babies. One time, I saw a cat kill a baby bird and it got attacked by a swarm of birds. So, as you can imagine, I am a little reluctant to just head up in the attic and get my eyeballs poked out. But, I mean, if you totally want to come to my house and do it for me, I will be more than happy to let you!

I've Been Tagged.

I was tagged by SumpN'Sassy.

The rules are to list 8 things about yourself, so here goes:

1. I only have 1 lung. The other was taken out when I was three weeks old due to cysts that had formed. The cysts had grown so far into my lung; the doctors couldn't just remove the cysts. They had to extract the lung in its entirety.
2. I have never been out of the country, although I been to almost every state in the US. However, I am hoping to go out of the country very soon.
3. I prefer documentaries over any other type of film.
4. I can get obsessive with video games. Especially the really good video games (i.e. Final Fantasy, God of War, etc) I find myself playing for hours upon hours and then realize my entire day has gone. Sometimes, I just can't put down the controller.
5. I am a HUGE animal lover. I pretty much want to own every animal in existence. Even the ugly ones. You can ask Bliss & Lonnie about that one. I think Lonnie honestly believes that I have a real problem and need to seek help.
6. It bothers me when I see a grammar or spelling mistake. Especially when the person should know better.
7. I rarely ever get sick. Even being around someone who is coughing and sneezing on me, I usually still don't contract their sickness. (Now watch, as soon as I say this, I am going to come down with some bubonic plague)
8. My friends know way more about me than anyone in my family does. And you know, that's really sad if you think about it.

Crafts and USPS

School has been taking away of lot of my crafting time, however, I did manage to finish this lovely pincushion. It is for sell in my Etsy shop for $10. I love flowers, especially cherry blossoms, so I really liked the way this turned out. I am also working (slowly but surely) on a panda bear sundae cross stitch. Sounds odd I know, but I think it is going to be so cute. I hope to be done with it this weekend. That is the plan anyways!

In other news, I officially hate the United States Postal Service. They have managed to lose not 1 but 4 packages I sent out! I sold some textbooks on Ebay and they lost all FOUR of them. When I called to see what I could do, they were basically like "Oops, Oh well." Apparently they all wound up in a mail recovery center and I have to write them a letter describing each of the lost items so they can send them back to me. I honestly don't think I will ever see those items again. Meanwhile, all the recipients are emailing me demanding their money back. So not only am I out the items that were lost, I am out the fees eBay charged me, plus I have to refund their money back. Grr! I will never use them again. This has been the biggest hassle I have ever had to deal with. FedEx from now on!

Sweat Baby Sweat

Unfortunately, now that school has started back, my time for crafting must slow down. However, it will not completely stop all together! Luckily, I will still have time for craft night with my girls.

Now for typical girl talk. Like most women, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but better yet, get more toned. I'd like to have those nice toned arms and just be able to feel completely secure when I'm at the beach. I am going to Miami beach at the end of March, so therefore I am starting my "extreme" workout plan. I only want to lose about 7 more pounds, but I am really aiming on just toning up. I bought the Slim in 6 program a while back and me and my friend Lonnie have been pretty consistent with staying on track. We usually do it about 2-3 times a week. We started with the "Ramp it Up!" video, which is about 47 minutes long. Let me start by first saying, this is definitely the best program I have ever done that actually does follow through with fast results. I would recommend the Slim in 6 to any woman that wants to lose weight and get firm. It combines cardio, weight lifting and abs all in one video. I lost about 8 pounds and gained some muscle. We currently do the "Burn it Up!" video and it is definitely tough but totally worth it. That video is an hour long! We've been slacking a bit because of the holidays. It was hard to find time between family time and traveling, but now that the holidays are over, I plan on getting back on track. Workout plan starts tomorrow! yay!

PUPCAKES!

Last night I celebrated my 25th birthday, since it falls on a Monday this year and Mondays are usually so hectic for me. My best friends Bliss & Lonnie made me the BEST cupcakes ever. Aren't they absolutely adorable?!?! And they were tasty too! Bliss loves to make cupcakes and she always makes the most delicious ones. She also likes to craft. You can check out her blog here and see other cupcakes she has made, as well as projects she has completed. She enjoys cross stitching and embroidering and I think she such an awesome job! I truly have the greatest friends ever. :)

Get Felt Up

I finshed my strawberry pincushion. I think it turned out well, although it could have been better. I'm now currently working on a ice cream cone pincushion & a lemon pincushion. I figure everyone is probably tired of those traditional tomato pincushions that are in every craft store across America. I make the pincushions out of felt, which I really enjoy working with. The only problem is that we only have one craft store around here so I am stuck to a limited amount of colors. It's hard to find felt with a huge variety of colors online without costing a fortune. So if anyone has any suggestions of where I can get some gorgeous colors for a good price, let me know!

I hate infomercials.

I finished quite a few projects I was working on this weekend. I'm glad because I think some of them turned out really nice. Here are two pieces I finished over the weekend. I am really proud of how they both turned out. The Link piece is the first cross stitch I have ever done. They were very time consuming but very much worth it. These items are available for sale in my Etsy shop. I am really big into video games, so I really enjoyed doing the Zelda/Link piece. For those who have played the game should be able to tell the object above the hearts is the fairy that is in the game. I tried to show this to my mom and she wasn't able to tell what it was. Of course, she has never played the game, so I am hoping it is easy for others to make out what it is.

Beginnings

So I guess I should have started a blog a long time ago, but honestly, I'm just now getting around to putting it together. Surprisingly enough, the picture on my blog is not me. That is my fantastic puppy Kaiser. He is my world. Anyways, I wanted to share one of the Christmas gifts I made for my nephew, Cohen. My brother is a huge Alabama fan, so I made my nephew this Alabama shirt. Don't mind the messy floor in the background.

I was very proud of this piece. I think it turned out good. I'm currently working on some pincushions to list up on Etsy. Look for listings soon! You can visit my Etsy shop here. I don't have many things listed yet, but I update frequently so keep checking back!
